Look Who’s Turning The Big 5-0!
Mission:
Penguin Young Readers Group hired us to publicize the Special 50th Anniversary Edition of Ezra Jack Keats’ The Snowy Day. We highlighted the importance of this beloved children’s classic as the first to break the color barrier in mainstream children’s literature by featuring an African American child as the protagonist, and gave media a rare look inside the world of the late Mr. Keats.
Accomplished! . . .
The sun has been shining brightly on The Snowy Day. In addition to helping drive book sales, W&Y’s efforts more than doubled traffic to the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation website by securing coverage in such media as The Wall Street Journal, USA Today (syndicated column), NPR “All Things Considered,” The Washington Post, Family Fun, Ebony and PRI “The Takeaway,” as well as Chicago Tribune (syndicated column), The New York Daily News, Houston Chronicle (syndicated column), Philadelphia Daily News, Atlanta Journal Constitution, WNBC-TV and NY-1.
